The Weinstein Co. has snagged domestic distribution rights for "Shelter" which comes from Nala Films. The horror flick stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Julianne Moore. Release will be some time this year.
Michael Cooney ("Identity") wrote the screenplay. Swedish duo Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein ("Storm") direct the film produced by Darlene Caamano Loquet of Nala Films, Emilio Diez Barroso of Nala Investments and Mike Macari and Neal Edelstein of Macari Edelstein films.
Budget is somewhere in the region of $22 million.
Nala also has Max Winkler's romantic comedy "Ceremony" starring Uma Thurman and Michael Angarano. That film is in post-production phase.
Also in the cast are Jeffrey DeMunn, Frances Conroy, Brooklynn Proulx, Nathan Corddry, KatiAna Davis, Michael Graves.
