Jessica Alba recently returned from the Venice Film Festival where she helped promote her starring role in director Robert Rodriguez’s grindhouse drama "Machete." According to London’s “Sun,” Alba also used the occasion to stand up for her “Machete” co-star Lindsay Lohan who has a small supporting role in the film as April, a spoiled rich girl addicted to drugs, sex and the partying life.
“The fact that she can poke fun at herself, she’s a brilliant actress,” Alba said. “It’s good. It’s hilarious.”
While Lohan continued to make headlines for being released ahead of schedule from her 90-day rehab sentence at the UCLA Medical Center after serving just three weeks, Alba encouraged people to focus on Lohan’s acting and not on her personal life.
“”Mean Girls” is a classic,” Alba continued. “It’s so good. How can you ever forget that? I think people should probably focus more on someone’s career and maybe less on someone’s personal circumstances. It’s nobody’s business. Everyone goes through their own thing.”
“Machete" hits North American theaters today.
