Fred Ward cast in 'Zombieland' helmer's '30 Minutes or Less'

Fred Ward has joined the cast of MRC/Columbia's "30 Minutes or Less" directed by "Zombieland" helmer Ruben Fleischer. He joins Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride, Michael Pena, Nick Swardson and Aziz Ansari.

The action comedy tells of two criminals who force a pizza-delivery man and a junior-high history teacher to rob a bank by strapping one of them into a bomb vest.

Ward is in as the father of McBride's character called "The Major." Michael Diliberti and Matthew Sullivan wrote the screenplay.

Red Hour Films' Ben Stiller, Stuart Cornfeld and Jeremy Kramer are producing and filming is scheduled to start late next July in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ward was last seen in Sony's "Armored" crime thriller with Columbus Short, Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, Laurence Fishbyrne and Amaury Nolasco.
