Clint Eastwood is apparently considering directing a biopic about FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. Dustin Lance Black ("Milk") writes. Brian Grazer and Ron Howard are producing via their Imagine Entertainment.
Universal has put the project which was penned a year ago, into turnaround. It is probable that this will end up at Warner Bros. where Eastwood has produced thirty five films via his Malpaso company.
Hoover, who was appointed director of the Bureau of Investigation in 1924, was named head of the FBI when it was founded eleven years after that.
He was director up until his death in 1972.
Eastwood is currently in post-production phase for Warner Bros. Pictures' "Hereafter" with Matt Damon, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jay Mohr, Cécile De France and Steve Schirripa. He recently helmed Damon in the South African Rugby World Cup drama "Invoctus" which earned Damon an Oscar nomination for this work as Francois Pienaar, former Rugby captain of the S.A. squad.
